CUSTOMER/CHALLANGE:

  • Scope Creep: Managing changes in project scope that occur without proper documentation or control.
  • Unclear Requirements: Difficulty in obtaining clear, complete, and unambiguous requirements from stakeholders.
  • Inadequate Documentation: Maintaining proper documentation of project processes, decisions, and requirements.

SOLUTIONS:

  • Clear set of Finance requirements elicited and documented by facilitating workshops, and these were signed off by the correct stakeholders.
  • Peer reviewed other BAs requirements using a 10 point checklist.
  • Any changes in scope were management properly by me documenting the Change Request, review the CR with stakeholders, presenting for approval at Working Delivery Groups, and presenting for approval at Change Board.

BENEFIT TO THE CUSTOMER:

  • Clear set of requirements documented which allowed developers to build to the business needs, and testers could test the build to check it was sufficient.
  • Ensure delivery of the key items for consideration – the ‘must have’ requirements.
  • Good communication and relationships built across different areas of the business.
